The Region intends to appeal against the publication of suitable areas (eight in Sardinia) for the storage of nuclear waste .

«I have given a mandate to the general secretariat of the Region's lawyers to access the documents at Sogin and Cnai to inform a useful file for challenging, if challengeable, even just the publication», announced the governor Christian Solinas , closing the session of the States General in the Regional Council.

«From this point of view we will do everything in our strength and in our competences from a legal point of view to counter an unjustifiable decision : all the technical-legal arguments will be deduced in a structured appeal that the Region will propose», explained the president .

On a political level, Solinas clarified that it is " fundamental to maintain the common front that emerges from the position of all of us , to be maintained regardless of the different flags. There is only one flag where Sardinia is written." Our land, he concluded, "is not an unlimited resource, we have already paid very high prices in the name of the concept of national solidarity and we do not accept lessons on this ".

Today at the States General Council were present Anci, Cal, the unions and the mayors of the 14 municipalities identified in the National Charter of Areas Suitable for Storage. The president of Cal Paola Secci also asked Solinas " to challenge the financial law under discussion in Parliament, especially due to the scandalous disparity in treatment between Sardinia and Sicily which will benefit from an allocation of 14.6 billion intended for the construction of the Bridge on the Strait which will translate into connections with Europe".

The President of the Assembly Michele Pais opened the proceedings: «The objective of this session, from which a unitary document will emerge, is to create a basis for discussion to establish a common position of Sardinia to be presented to the government. We are already a land of industrial, energy and prison servitude (we have the highest number of criminals in 41 bis), we don't want yet another servitude ." The president of ANCI Emiliano Deiana, the mayors of the fourteen municipalities identified by the Charter and the regional secretaries of CGIL, CISL and UIL spoke.
