Jannik Sinner beats Alexander Bublik 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 in one hour and 49 minutes and reaches the semi-finals of Roland Garros .

The usual unshakeable, inexorable Jannik, who reserves to Bublik, the great surprise of the tournament, the same treatment reserved to Lehecka and Rublev, at least for one set. The number 1 in the world starts as usual, in a flash it's 5-0 . And so the histrionic Kazakh exults when he wins the first game of the match, just like Sinner's last two challengers had done. No big deal for the Italian, who closes 6-1 but this time has to suffer a bit more in the second set .

Because Bublik begins to assert his great serve and his variations ( some splendid short balls ) break the infernal rhythm impressed in the exchanges from the baseline by the South Tyrolean and produce winners. The match goes on serve until 5 all, when Jannik with a perfect game on the return earns two break points. The Kazakh cancels the first with a great forehand volley winner, but on the second he commits a double fault and concedes a break and then the set, because Jannik doesn't make any mistakes on the serve .

The match ends here, Sinner takes the lead immediately in the third and closes with a “bagel” in less than half an hour. And with the score now safe, he also allows himself a few winning short balls.

The Italian thus reaches the semifinals with a clean sweep, without losing a set. On Friday he will face Novak Djokovic, who defeated Alexander Zverev in 4 sets . In the other semifinal Lorenzo Musetti will challenge Carlos Alcaraz . The only precedent with two Italians in the Slam semifinals dates back to 1960: again in Paris, Orlando Sirola and Nicola Pietrangeli reached it, with the latter winning the tournament.

The women's semi-finals have been defined: the great Sabalenka-Swiatek challenge and the one between Coco Gauff and the fairy tale of the tournament, the home idol Lois Boisson , who reached the penultimate act as number 361 in the ranking.

And Italy also has its say in doubles: Errani-Paolini are in the semi-finals in the women's event, Errani-Vavassori in the final in the mixed event .
