The incentives for the single SEZ, the special economic zone that includes Sardinia, Sicily, Basilicata, Abruzzo, Calabria, Campania, Molise and Puglia, are taking off.

The implementing decree was signed by Minister Giorgetti.

It is a competition between the regions of the South for 1.8 billion in tax credits, already foreseen in the Southern Decree of last September. An unblocking that gets investments moving again after months of uncertainty. Sardinia will have to compete with areas already equipped with infrastructure, but benefiting from a special exemption for Sulcis.

In fact, a higher tax credit is foreseen (50%) because it is an area that is already the recipient of the Just Transition Fund, financed with European funds.

The exemption also applies to Taranto, while the incentives on the rest of the island stop at 30% (together with Basilicata and Molise).

Competition comes from Calabria, Campania and Puglia (40% credit). While Abruzzo will stop at 15%.

The opportunities for those who invest in Sulcis increase in proportion to the investment: the incentive reaches 70% for a small business with a commitment of less than 50 million.

From 12 June to 12 July, interested companies will have to communicate the eligible expenses incurred and expected between January 1 and November 15, 2024.
