Simone Biles was named athlete of the year by “Time” magazine because "with the eyes of the world on her, she took the extraordinary step of saying: that's enough".

The American gymnast at the Tokyo Olympics this summer had the courage to retire from the finals of various specialties to face her "inner demons".

The 24-year-old revealed that she suffered from anxiety disorders and "twiestis", sudden mental blocks that caused her to lose orientation during exercise, and explained that she wanted to focus "on mental health and my well-being".

An announcement that went around the world and turned on a beacon on the psychological problems and frailties of the champions (and not only).

Biles is the first and only gymnast in history to have won five world titles in the individual competition and the one who has won the most medals in history at the World Championships: no less than 25, including 19 gold.
