After an unexpected cancellation, Simona Molinari's magnificent voice returns stronger than ever to fulfill the promise she made to the Cagliari audience: the original September date, later cancelled by the singer for health reasons, will be rescheduled for the evening of Tuesday the 21st, starting at 8:00 PM, again at the Teatro Massimo, with singer-songwriter Vanessa Bissiri opening the show. A wait of just over a month for spectators, who will finally be rewarded for their patience.
Everything was ready for the September 21st date, when Molinari had to take an unexpected step back the night before. "My voice, which usually accompanies me faithfully, has decided to take a break this time. An inflammation has led to aphonia, and I won't be able to sing for you," the artist declared. "I'm so sorry, but this is just goodbye: I'll be back on stage soon with even more gratitude and a desire to share music together." A commitment, also guaranteed by the organizers of Forma e Poesia nel Jazz to keep tickets already purchased for the future date valid, is now being honored by Molinari, who arrives with a show that finds her at the peak of her vocal strength.
The performance will be a journey through music and theater, written in collaboration with author and journalist Simona Orlando to celebrate the strength, versatility, and free expression of women. Spanning eras and styles, from opera to Billie Eilish, from maestro Lucio Dalla to the iconic Milly Monti, "La Donna è Mobile" is a tribute, through Molinari's voice and presence, to the women who dared, venturing into the unknown and making free singing possible today, for women, men, and everyone else. On stage, accompanying the singer is an all-female quartet: Sade Mangiaracina (piano, keyboards, and backing vocals), Chiara Lucchini (alto and soprano saxophone, flute, and backing vocals), Elisabetta Pasquale (bass and backing vocals), and Francesca Remigi (drums). The evening, as originally planned, will open with Sassari-born singer-songwriter Vanessa Bissiri's personal project "Empatica," the result of a meeting between people rather than musicians. The concert will be performed as a duo, with Bissiri on vocals and singer-songwriter and director Carlo Doneddu on guitar.
