Interrogation before the investigators for Paul Haggis , the Oscar-winning director and screenwriter arrested in Ostuni, in Puglia , on charges of sexual assault against a 30-year-old English woman .

"Maximum collaboration and confident expectation for what the results of the investigations will be. Haggis answered all the questions asked by the judge, the prosecutors and the defense. Mr. Haggis himself declared his willingness to stay in Italy until when his total innocence is not definitively ascertained ", said Michele Laforgia, lawyer of Haggis.

Laforgia spoke with the reporters at the end of the interrogation to validate the arrest that took place before the investigating judge of Brindisi Vilma Gilli.

“Haggis - added Laforgia - explained how the facts went. He has pleaded totally innocent, as he had done in the immediate arrest. The relations he had with this woman are totally consensual during these three days spent together in Ostuni ".

"We have clarified - Laforgia later specified -, even contrary to what is assumed in the charges, that there is no injury and no sign of violence ".

After the interrogation, the investigating judge decided that the director must remain under house arrest , not validating the arrest for lack of the danger of escape, but applying

the precautionary measure for sexual violence applied to him.

According to the investigating judge, in fact, there would be the danger of pollution of the evidence and repetition of the crime .
