More solid at the back, less aggressive up front, still unable to win. The Gubbio match ended 0-0. A draw that's not even bad considering the decent quality of the home team, but Torres needed the three points and once again they didn't get them. Not even the final 20 minutes of manpower were enough.
The match opened with a thrilling display: Antonelli's mistimed run in the 9th minute allowed Tommasini to break away, but Idda was providential in injury time. The match was very evenly matched, with few real chances on either side. Starita's shot was central in the 13th minute, while Zaccagno parried striker Di Massimo's effort. In the 17th minute, Musso parried teammate Di Stefano's shot. In the 26th minute, Di Massimo attempted an interesting pass, but it went over.
In the second half, Sala made a fine run, the ball reaching Di Stefano but he wasted time and was tackled. A flurry of substitutions began, and Gubbio, who had started with a back four, reverted to a 3-5-2, but in the 78th minute, Conti was given a second yellow card. Protests from both teams over alleged penalty fouls (on Rosaia and Lunghi) were unsuccessful, even after VAR review. In the middle, Diakite's overhead kick was ruled offside.
