The effort was unsuccessful, and victory remained a taboo, but the 1-1 draw at the Vanni Sanna Stadium against Arezzo confirmed that Torres was solidifying its form. A strong first half, a slow second half with a couple of late bursts of brilliance, weren't enough against the second-placed team, who played a second half with three forwards and former Rossoblu winger Varela.
REPORT - Torres struck with their first real chance in the 8th minute: Sala made a quick dash to escape the defender and cross from the edge of the box. Di Stefano's header was missed by the goalkeeper, and Starita easily tapped in to take the lead. Five minutes later, Di Stefano fired over after a short clearance from the Tuscan defense. Little happened for most of the half, as the Rossoblu remained alert. The only real mistake came in the 40th minute when Idda let the ball be taken from him by former player Varela, who was entering the box, but Zaccagno had already come out in time to block it with his body.
In the second half, Arezzo brought on a third striker and moved Varela to midfield, but he was assigned to the wing. The visitors became dangerous: in the 61st minute, Zaccagno closed down Pattarello, and in the 72nd minute, Ravasio broke away down the left and equalized with a diagonal shot. Two minutes later, Cianci attempted to fire in a shot but missed. Torres broke the siege, and Sala's strike was parried by the goalkeeper, who then produced a miracle save to block Diakite's header from Mastinu. In the middle, Pattarello's shot was deflected by the Sassari goalkeeper.
