Torres fell at home, beaten by Pianese at the "Vanni Sanna" stadium in a second half played with ten men, following Brentan's second yellow card in the 35th minute. It must be said that with ten men, the Rossoblù had achieved little, but once they were down to ten men, the match was over.

The first half was lacking in excitement, with Torres creating four chances but ultimately failing to get a shot on target. The turning point came in the 35th minute when, following a clash between Brentan and Martey, the referee consulted VAR at the visitors' request and issued a second yellow card to the Rossoblu midfielder. Torres was down to ten men. Coach Pazienza removed winger Nunziatini, brought on midfielder Sala, and switched from a 3-5-2 to a 4-3-2 formation to better defend without sacrificing attacking potential. Goalkeeper Petriccione made a brilliant substitute for Zaccagno, making two fine saves on shots from Simeone and, more importantly, Bellini in the 44th minute.

At the start of the second half, a corner from the left, a scramble, and Simeoni slots home. Torres only manages a long-range shot from Sala, which is angled but not very powerful. The visitors double their lead in the 83rd minute: a free kick and Simeoni heads the game into the net.

It ends with yet another warning for the rossoblù from a referee with a fickle yardstick and certainly not a home referee.
