The charm of contemporary dance and the pathos of flamenco, between reinterpretations of masterpieces from the history of ballet and original creations by important choreographers, with "Duets and Solos", a refined dance and music show curated by Daniele Cipriani, on stage, after the extraordinary success yesterday in Sassari, this evening, Saturday 24 February, at 8.30 pm and tomorrow at 7 pm at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari for the Season of La Grande Danza organized by CeDAC, Multidisciplinary Circuit of Live Entertainment in Sardinia chaired by Antonio Cabiddu with the artistic direction of Valeria Ciabattoni.

Superstar highly anticipated and loved by the public Sergio Bernal, internationally renowned artist, former étoile of the Ballet Nacional de España and founder, together with Ricardo Cue, of the SB Dance Company , appointed Ambassador of the Arts of Great Britain and highly decorated in the world with the Ballet2000 Award in Cannes in 2016 and Danza&Danza 2023 Award for best international dancer.

With him on stage Matteo Miccini, soloist of the Stuttgart Ballet and Amar Ramasar, former principal dancer of the New York City Ballet for an extraordinary production by Daniele Cipriani Entertainment.

“Duets and Solos” offers a precious anthology of solos and pas de deux, alongside intriguing instrumental pages: the soundtrack is entrusted to two brilliant performers, Silvia Chiesa on cello and Maurizio Baglini on piano, for an ideal itinerary from the Baroque Age to Impressionism, through the rich climate of Romanticism, to the notes of Arcangelo Corelli, with his variations on the Folía de España and the ancient dances reworked by Johann Sebastian Bach, alongside the virtuosic theme of "The Bell" by Franz Liszt, the Étude S.140 No.3 in G sharp minor, on a melody from the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 2 in B minor by Niccolò Paganini, and also the Romanza senza parole for cello and piano op.109 by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, the Polonaise brilliant op.3 for cello and piano by Frédéric Chopin, and the Andante from the Sonata for cello and piano op.19 by Sergej Rachmaninov, as well as famous scores such as “Le cygne” from “Le Carnaval des Animaux” by Camille Saint-Saëns and Maurice Ravel's Boléro.

Spotlight on Sergio Bernal, icon of flamenco and shining star of Spanish ballet, among the myths of world dance together with our Roberto Bolle , who alternates with Matteo Miccini and Amar Ramasar in a repertoire that ranges from the great "classical" tradition to the modern derivatives of Terpsichore's art, with incursions and contaminations with the gypsy spirit and the popular dances of Spain and Europe.

“SSSS” is the title of the elegant solo signed by the Slovenian choreographer Edward Clug and danced by Matteo Miccini, among the suggestions of a Nocturne for piano by Frédéric Chopin, while Amar Ramasar interprets “A Suite of Dances” by the American dancer and choreographer, as well as director, Jerome Robbins, Oscar winner for “West Side Story”, with music by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Fans will be able to admire Sergio Bernal in the intensity of "The Swan", the original male version of "The Dying Swan" by Michel Fokine, a splendid solo created for Anna Pavlova , and rethought on a virile figure by the Spanish choreographer Ricardo Cue, in a she dances both sensual and poignant to the notes of Camille Saint-Saëns; and again the hypnotic and overwhelming “Boléro” by Maurice Ravel, for which he also choreographed, in an extraordinary solo with the passion and abandonment of a modern Dionysian ritual.

Finally, the elegance of classical dance and the pathos of flamenco sublimated in a symbolic "duel" with the "Folia de Caballeros", a choreography by Joaquin de Luz and Sergio Bernal, who dances here in a duo with Matteo Miccini, on the variations of Arcangelo Corelli taken from La Folía de España.

An itinerary between notes and visions through the languages of the performing arts, in a skilful alternation of music and dance, to win over experts and culture lovers but also to attract and intrigue new segments of the public, with particular attention to the new generations, with a poetic and compelling praise of beauty: yet another creative project from Cipriani's genius that manages to involve the most eminent international dance authorities who today tirelessly promote this sublime art in theaters on all continents, rewarded by the enthusiasm of an audience thirsty for masterpieces and wonderful performers.
