Semih Kılıçsoy is leaving the senior Turkey national team to rejoin the Under-21 squad. Left out of yesterday's World Cup qualifying semifinal, which they won 1-0 against Romania, the Cagliari striker will not be available to Vincenzo Montella for Tuesday's crucial 8:45 PM match in Kosovo, which will decide a spot in the World Cup.
Kılıçsoy, on the other hand, will return to the Under-21 team, of which he is captain, to face Croatia in Osijek on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. This will be a real head-to-head clash for qualification for next year's European Championships, as first and second place face off against Turkey, who have a one-point advantage but also a game in hand.
After this match, Kılıçsoy will return to Sardinia for Sassuolo-Cagliari on Saturday 4 April at 3pm.
