This is Elly Schlein's response to a Tg3 journalist who asked her to comment on the comments of M5S leader Giuseppe Conte. "But now let's not get lost in arguments among ourselves," Schlein continued. "Let's focus on this government's failures and on our concrete proposals, like the one we all signed on equal parental leave, to support millions of Italian families with five months of paid leave for both parents."

The president of the M5S had created tensions in the broader camp and challenged the Democratic Party, declaring that his party would no longer vote on measures for military aid to Ukraine, adding: "We will resolve the issue of weapons for Ukraine with the primaries; we will let the Italians decide."
