After 12 years, Italy's Under-20 team reached the semifinals of the European Championships. In Greece, the Azzurri defeated Israel 89-80 after a sensational comeback from 19 minutes down to 25 minutes.
Coach Rossi's team's top scorer was Elisee Assui with 22 points. Davide Torresani and Sassari's Stefano Trucchetti also played a decisive role in the final minutes. The Dinamo point guard had 12 points, 4 of 8 three-pointers, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds in what was his best game of the European Championship so far .
The Azzurri will face Serbia, who defeated Spain, in the semifinals. The match will be played on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
