The occasion is the centenary of his birth (in Gorizia to Sardinian parents) and fills a glaring gap: a foundation that deals with historicizing and cataloging the immense production of an artist who continued to paint practically until his death , in 2021, when he was 94 years old.
The official archive dedicated to Liliana Cano was born in Sassari, a new study and research centre, established with the aim of keeping the artistic legacy alive and transmitting the human message of the Sassari artist.
At the helm of the Archive is the Artistic Director Davide Mariani, art historian and curator, professor of Contemporary Art History and Museology at the Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari, former Director of the Museum dedicated to Maria Lai and exhibitions in Italy and abroad 'abroad.
The president of the Archive is his son Igino Panzino, a very well-known artist, while the Board of Directors is made up of the artist's other children, Antonella, Carlo and Chiara Panzino.
In the coming months, exhibitions, meetings and many events will be organized to spread the work of Liliana Cano.
