International jazz returns. With the exclusive brand of productions written specifically for the Sardinian Jazz Orchestra, the Verdi Theater of Sassari will host the three double concerts of "Jazz Op", an event organized by the Blue Note Orchestra association which crosses the finish line of the 20th edition .

First appointment on March 19 (at 11 and 19) with “OJS Meets Franco Ambrosetti”, a project dedicated to Franco Ambrosetti , a central figure on the international jazz scene. An extraordinarily talented trumpet player, he began his career in the 1960s in his father's group, with whom he performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1967, then continuing with prestigious collaborations: Michael Brecker, John Scofield, Mike Stern, and a long in the studio with Mina. The Sardinian Jazz Orchestra will be conducted by the Swiss saxophonist, composer and arranger Gabriele Comeglio .

Second appointment on April 16 with "From Yesterday To Tomorrow" with a program largely dedicated to the repertoire of soundtrack composer Michel Legrand. The songs, revised by the composer and arranger Luigi Giannatempo , will have as guest star the Belgian singer David Linx , one of the most beautiful male voices in European jazz.

Closing on May 14, with the production "Q90" which celebrates 90 years of the composer, musician and conductor Quincy Jones in an original way. Marco Tiso , composer and conductor, has arranged for the OJS a series of pieces that are not written by Jones but pertain to his multifaceted activity, with titles ranging from the jazz tradition to the period more influenced by soul and funky, up to some themes conceived for cinema and pop successes. Solo guests who will join the Sassari orchestra are Francesco Lento 's trumpet and Massimo Carboni 's tenor sax.
