Of clear Italian origins, in 1971, at the age of only 21, Joseph Fontano moved to Rome and founded " Teatrodanza Contemporanea di Roma ", the first contemporary dance company in Italy, and subsequently the first professional center of contemporary art.

Friday, March 17 from 11.30 and until all afternoon the choreographer, scholar and teacher will be hosted by the Liceo Coreutico Azuni of Sassari, the only address of studies of the kind in Sardinia.

Fontano will propose a choreographic composition workshop and will tell his artistic experience also through the autobiographical book " The dancing lightning ". These are the two moments of a project coordinated by the dance teacher Maria Gabriella Huober for the students of the Sassari high school.

The head teacher of Azuni, Antonio Deroma, underlines: «A human and artistic testimony, that of Joseph Fontano, which will be a unique opportunity for learning and comparison for our students in a discipline that combines study and skills with creativity and passion ».
