It affects one in every 2,500 children and one in 25 is a healthy carrier. Cystic fibrosis is a genetic, chronic, degenerative disease with a poor prognosis that affects the pancreas, liver, lungs, and sweat glands.

A theatrical animation workshop with a final show on stage can be a crucial tool for expressing the emotions of patients, family members and operators, but also for raising awareness on the subject among the population, which is often unaware of how complicated it is to manage even just the cures.

The shareholders' meeting of the Italian Cystic Fibrosis League Sardinia ODV approved the social budget and programs for 2023. Among the initiatives there is also the theatrical animation workshop which will be promoted in the spaces of the Teatro Astra in Sassari in collaboration with the local company La Botte e il Cilindro and the Materia Grigia association.

The initiative of the theater workshop, lasting eight months until January 2024 , is aimed at patients, family members and operators, with the aim of promoting, through an artistic channel, the expression of lived through fun and pleasure and the experimentation of new communicative and relational possibilities.

The theater workshop includes two phases . The first will be dedicated to play and aspects related to walking, gestures and facial expressions will be explored to discover the potential of our body, rhythm and imagination, listening and the production of sounds and music, and the voice. But also to the birth of a character, situations and characterizations. The second phase, on the other hand, will focus on the story/text, i.e. on the creation of the paintings with the "entries" and "exits" of the characters , on the choice of context and "situations" , on the invention of the characters themselves and on the assembly of the paintings of the story/text . All this will accompany the workshop participants to the final performance.
