Sassari, collaboration agreement between the University and the University of Belgrade
The rector Mariotti and his Serbian counterpart Djokic have signed an "agreement" to implement shared study and research projectsImportant meeting and agreement this morning in Sassari between the University of the same name and the University of Belgrade. The Rector Gavino Mariotti ratifies a broad international collaboration agreement, welcoming the Rector of the University of Belgrade, Professor Vladan Djokic, to the rectorate this morning.
During the visit, the two rectors signed a general agreement for international collaboration of an educational and scientific nature which will subsequently give rise to individual projects shared by the various departments. In the afternoon, a discussion between the representatives of the University of Sassari and the Serbian one, who will be able to propose targeted ideas on how to continue the collaboration in interdepartmental areas of interest to both universities.
The Serbian delegation includes, in addition to the Rector, Professor Nebojsa Bojovic, Dean of the Faculty of Transport Engineering; Professor Milorad Mirilovic, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Zoran Djukanovic, professor of Architecture; Aleksandra Buha Djordjevic, professor of Pharmacy; Ivan Rakoniac, National Director of Technological Innovation Fund for Serbia. Today's meeting in Sardinia will be followed by an official visit from the University of Sassari to the University of Belgrade.
The idea stems from the collaboration between Roberto Madeddu - professor of the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Sassari, as well as rectoral delegate for relations with Serbia - and professor Buha Dordevic, who gave life to some Erasmus agreements for the exchange of students and teachers.
"A very important agreement for the University of Sassari - declares Gavino Mariotti - This new collaboration represents a further expansion of the international perspective, an enrichment of the possibilities offered to the audience of male and female students, teaching staff, male and female researchers". The University of Belgrade, founded in 1808, is one of the largest, oldest and most renowned in the Balkans. Like the University of Sassari, it is a generalist university, which ranges between different fields of knowledge in the wake of a long history and tradition. Satisfied after the ratification of the agreement also the Rector of the University of Belgrade Vladan Djokic.
"We thank you for the welcome, a fundamental first step between the two universities - he said - which will be followed by detailed agreements between the various departments".
