The Government Body of the Sardinia Area has given the green light to the new redevelopment intervention for the water network of the Municipality of Sarroch. The project concerns the reconstruction of a part of the pipeline that feeds the town.

For these works, Egas has made around 310,000 euros available.

In detail, efficiency improvement works will be carried out on the water network in some areas of the city's urban fabric and along State Road 195, which connects Cagliari and Lower Sulcis. At the moment Sarroch records water losses that reach 47% of the total introduced into the network due to the obsolete pipes made of materials that are no longer performing. The works can be immediately contracted out by the sole manager of the service, Abbanoa; the new ductile iron pipes will run for approximately 510 meters along the 195 and will contribute to the hydraulic, energy and management efficiency of the infrastructures of the town.

The new intervention joins the water requalification program started last November in Sarroch and relating to the adaptation of the purification plant for which 360 thousand euros have been allocated. The project envisages the structural restoration of the clarifier, the replacement of the sludge scraper blades and weirs, the functional modernization of the plant and its general maintenance, the adaptation of the carpentry and sludge treatment and the replacement of the electromechanical equipment.
