Mario Nieddu asked the government for extraordinary powers to be able to respond "more effectively" to the current critical issues affecting the Sardinian health system.

This is the proposal that the regional councilor presented today to the undersecretary for health Andrea Costa , during a meeting in Rome together with the deputy Mara Lapia in which he took stock of the priorities and the state of Sardinian health . Proposal that reiterates the requests made yesterday to the deputy minister Pier Paolo Sileri on the occasion of his visit to Sassari.

"A constructive confrontation, there is maximum confidence that the government will accept our requests", declared Nieddu, who delivered a 25-page dossier to Costa less than two months ago on emergencies and measures to strengthen the regional health system .

“Today - continues Nieddu - extraordinary management, in the face of non-ordinary problems, is more necessary than ever ”. Hence the formal request to evaluate “for our Region an emergency decree for a regional management with full powers of the entire health system. An extraordinary tool like the measures adopted for the management of the Covid emergency. I also asked the undersecretary for guarantees on the funds already provided for by the latest budget law, with particular reference to the chapter linked to the elimination of waiting lists , an objective that we consider a priority ”.

Even the deputy Lapia, who participated in the meeting, highlighted the need for "commissioner management".
