The death of Erik Masala, the 26-year-old from Cagliari found lifeless in a cell in the Bancali prison in Sassari, is a mystery.

Cataloged as a suicide, the death and its manner did not convince the young man's family and lawyer, who said the body had "strange bruises". Even for the friends of Sant'Elia "Erik would never have killed himself".

The magistrate ordered an autopsy to establish the causes of death.
