Work in progress on the slip road: traffic at a standstill in Carbonia

Traffic at a standstill this morning in Carbonia due to the installation of a temporary traffic light system on the slip road that leads from the intermodal center to State Road 126.

The traffic light was installed to allow for work to lay a cable duct to transport electricity from a large photovoltaic park built in the Sa Terredda area behind the landfill.

The cables will arrive at the Serbariu substation, passing close to the western bypass where for a few days traffic leaving the city has been interrupted (without any notification except when it is close to being closed).

The construction site is causing traffic congestion entering and exiting the city and in the commercial area with queues in Via Roma, Via Costituente and Via Stazione.
