Tomorrow at 10.30 the project of the wind farm in Baccu Mandara lands in the City Council in Msracalagonis.

Meanwhile, the environmental association Gruppo d'intervention Giuridico (GrIG) has also contested the project by sending observations to the environmental impact assessment procedure (VIA). Girg speaks of «220-metre-high wind turbines (6.6 MW each, a total of 92.4 MW), earthworks, roads, cable ducts, electrical substations in an area largely wooded and rich in Mediterranean scrub, as also clearly indicated by the landscape plan regional". Basically, «a highly visible steel wall between the coast and the Sette Fratelli mountains» .

And this, the association adds, despite " the presence of hydrogeological constraints and landscape constraints ". The wind farm, in fact, would rise " well within the buffer zone extending seven kilometers from the edge of the areas protected by hydrogeological or landscape constraints ".

Therefore , Grig asked the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security "to formally deny the environmental compatibility of the planned plant" and informed the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Sardinia, the Superintendence for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Cagliari and the Municipality of Maracalagonis, which, we read, "recently discovered the project, but it is unknown what concrete initiatives it has undertaken in this regard".
