Wind attack in Sardinia: more than 700 projects presented, offices besieged. «We need a moratorium»
Councilor Porcu: «Ready to launch a measure that allows us to take a breather and think about the energy planning we want for the island»The wind assault on Sardinia does not stop , on the contrary, it intensifies. And the Region, in the absence of the expected moratorium from Rome, is ready to block all authorizations to "take a breather and think calmly about the energy planning we want for the Island", explains the Environment councilor Marco Porcu .
The number of projects presented by wind multinationals increases day by day, there are currently over 700 and the same offices that provide authorizations are besieged by requests .
We need to put a stop to it: «The assault must be limited, we cannot accept that our territory is invaded without any rules. We must achieve the result of governing the authorization processes of renewable energy plants and prevent, with the tools that national law allows us, the attack on the territories of Sardinia", states the president of the Productive Activities commission Piero Maieli . His deputy in the commission Gianfranco Satta : "We must necessarily put together a decree that blocks speculation and preserves our environment ."
A moratorium which therefore becomes a priority of this end of the legislature: «We must maintain sovereignty regarding the choice of plants and places», explains Industry Councilor Anita Pili .
Two texts are under the attention of the Productive Activities Commission: the bill of the Red-Green Alliance and the one delivered by the coordination of the territorial committees , which have taken to the streets several times against energy speculation.
The urgency of a moratorium is shared by everyone, even the opposition is ready to do its part. «The regional council has already expressed itself in favor of the protection of territories and is ready to continue to do so, this issue is an absolute political priority on the agenda at the end of the legislature», states PD councilor Salvatore Corrias .
The M5s group leader Alessandro Solinas asks for a strong signal from the Council: «Too much procrastination, the councilors and the president of the Region tell us what they intend to do to lead this battle ».
