The Prevention Department of the Local Health Authority (ASL 5) of Oristano immediately began an epidemiological investigation and preventive measures, which include disinfecting the areas where people who have contracted the virus live.
" We remind all citizens, especially the frail and elderly, to stay away from any risky situations ," declares the director of the Prevention Department Maria Valentina Marras, "and to protect themselves from the bites of this insect with all the tools we already know: avoid stagnant water, protect yourself with repellent sprays and long clothing when outdoors, and screen your home with mosquito nets."
" The number of infections continues to rise, and unfortunately, a second death has also occurred . We continue to follow the only prevention and protection measures against the disease. And it is essential that those caring for the elderly and children ensure that both are implementing the same protective measures," added Grazia Cattina, general director of ASL 5.
