Burglaries in homes, on farms, and even at the Town Hall . In Marmilla, concern is growing over recent incidents in Usellus, where three hunting rifles were stolen in recent days. Someone managed to break into the home of a pensioner (who was out of town for a while) and take the weapons.

Only a few days later, the theft was discovered and immediately reported to the Carabinieri of the Mogoro Company, who began an investigation.

In recent months, several rifle thefts have been reported in Marmilla. Investigators are speculating that the thefts may be from a criminal network linked to gangs in the Nuoro and Ogliastra regions, but there is also speculation that the stolen weapons may be used for poaching.

In Simala, thieves took action two nights ago: they stole a municipal three-wheeler (a Piaggio Porter), which they then used in another robbery at a company, from which they stole agricultural equipment and diesel fuel.

In this case too, investigations were started immediately, and the Carabinieri are examining the footage from the security cameras.

In light of the repeated incidents of petty crime, there is widespread concern throughout Marmilla while the police are intensifying checks and prevention services.
