The Gulf War unleashed by the US and Israel against Iran is hitting Italian consumers' wallets. The most immediate effect of the missile strikes on Tehran, with a response that has affected every country in the now-torn Middle East, is the uncontrolled rise in energy and fuel prices.
HERE ARE THE UPDATES ON THE WAR
The increase is certified by the price observatory of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, which publishes the average pump price for all regions every day. The jump between 8 a.m. on March 3rd and the same time today is significant.
In Sardinia, yesterday the average price of diesel at the self-service pump was €1.762 per liter. Today, it's already €1.838. Gasoline was €1.7000. Today, it rose to €1.743. The increase in LPG was much more modest (almost imperceptible), going from €0.798 to €0.799.
The island, along with Liguria, ranks fourth in terms of price. Only Calabria (1,848 euros for diesel), Valle d'Aosta, and the provinces of Trento and Bolzano are more expensive.
