A 50-year-old man from Olbia was acquitted (for not having committed the crime) of the very serious charge of having abused (from 2006 to 2014) a girl who was 15 years old at the beginning of the affair.
The sentence was handed down by the judges of the Tempio Tribunal; the public prosecutor Alessandro Bosco had asked for eight years in prison for the man.
According to the prosecution's reconstruction, "the victim, in a state of exhaustion, alone and without family support, continued to visit her tormentor's house. The threat of a video being released, which actually happened, devastated the girl."
The judges accepted the argument of the man's defense attorney, Tomaso Casula, who had requested an acquittal because proof of sexual assault had never been obtained.
