The Municipality of Villaputzu has definitively awarded the contract for the construction of the Day Center for the disabled: in the next few days, the urgent delivery of the imminently starting works to the company awarded the contract. The awaited structure will be built on the first floor of the municipal building, in via Nazionale, the former seat of the civic market, which has been in disuse for a very long time.

Cost of the intervention approximately 490,000 euros, of which 300,000 euros granted to the Municipality by the Region.

The day center will feature a multifunctional space that will simultaneously serve up to two different types of users (children/teenagers and the elderly). Two environments will be created, completely independent from each other but connectable through the opening of the two large doors envisaged in the project. Each environment will be equipped with a multipurpose room and toilets. Ancillary rooms are also planned which will serve the two rooms at the same time. Specifically, there will be an office for welcoming users, a canteen, with a relative small kitchen and pantry, while changing rooms, bathrooms and a closet will be provided for the personnel who will work within the centre.

In the design, all the building, urban planning and sanitary parameters relating to the rooms intended for the intended use were respected. The maximum crowding of people has been calculated at around 50 guests plus the staff who will work in the centre.

«The realization of this project - says the mayor Sandro Porcu - will allow us to respond to the needs of citizens and families from all over Sarrabus who have been waiting for a concrete response to their needs for a very long time. Slowly the projects for Villaputzu are realized, with commitment, passion and dedication the objectives can be achieved».
