Villacidro, fire in the pine forest: helicopter in action

Fire in Villacidro in the pine forest overlooking the town , in the locality of "Narti" .

The alarm went off around 9.30 this morning , with the prompt intervention of a patrol from the local forestry station, which directed the extinguishing operations. The Sanluri firefighters and Avsad, a local Civil Protection team, also attended.

The helicopter of the regional fire service stationed in Fenosu was in action, which with 31 water drops prevented the flames from spreading further. The fire affected about 3 hectares of Mediterranean scrub and maritime pines.

The land reclamation phase continues.

Investigations by the Forestry Corps are underway to identify the causes and those responsible for the event.
