A large fire is burning an area of about ten hectares of Mediterranean scrub and fields in Viddalba, in the Li Reni area, where the Forestry Corps teams intervened, coordinating the firefighters from the Tempio, Arzachena and Sassari offices, operating with five vehicles to defend the homes, together with the men of Forestas, in the field with six vehicles, the civil protection personnel of Alta Gallura and the barracelli of Viddalba.

An operation involving around 45 people working to put out the flames, fueled by the warm wind that is blowing close to some farms and homes.

The Canadair took off from Ciampino base to support the Drago 143 helicopter: for the aircraft of the national fleet, it is the first take-off of the season in Sardinia.

The maximum danger plan will come into effect on June 1st, but alert situations are emerging due to rising temperatures and strong winds.
