The vaccination campaign in Sardinia is promoted by General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.

The Covid emergency commissioner approved the pace of the island by speaking in Cagliari by videoconference at the conference "Ad Adiuvandum, a social experiment in preventive, solidarity and community medicine".

"In terms of the vaccination campaign, Sardinia is doing very well - he said -, so far it has had very good results, in full average and in some sectors even above the national average". "The Ad Adiuvandum project is part of this context - he added - which arises from a pact between the Defense and the Region".

According to Figliuolo "a great job has been done in all the most isolated villages, intercepting the most elderly and fragile, and today the data prove us right because the percentages of Sardinia on these age groups and people are really good". Therefore, the Commissioner concluded, "I hope that the Ad Adiuvandum project is truly a good practice and continues to be successful for the health of all our fellow citizens".

For the general, it was also an opportunity to take stock of the fight against Covid on a national level: "With 41 million vaccinated (76% of the Italian population vaccinated), the campaign has achieved very good results, also confirmed a few days ago by famous immunologist Anthony Fauci who spoke of Italy as an international model, "he said.

"This model - he concluded - is the result of teamwork carried out by central institutions, by the Regions and autonomous Provinces, by the Defense, by the world of associations and voluntary work, by the Red Cross, and by the many private individuals who have disposes its own organization, its own spaces, its own administrations in order to organize the vaccination centers ".

Today in most of Italy we start with the administration of the third doses on fragile and immunosuppressed subjects: "We are on the first day of the so-called third doses and the administration is beginning on fragile subjects, the immune compromises, those who need an additional dose to complete your vaccination course ".
