The V Section of the Court of Cassation declared the total inadmissibility of the appeal presented by the lawyer of Gianfranco Cherubini , the lawyer Luigi Alfano, against the sentence of the Court of Appeal of Rome which last May rejected the request for review of the trial presented by the uxoricide .

The man had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Maria Pina Sedda , the employee of the registry office in Nuoro , who was killed on 23 July 2002 in the cellar of the building in via Fiume where he lived.

The sisters and the victim's daughter , represented by the lawyer Gianluigi Mastio, had opposed the requests made by the inmate to life imprisonment.
