Another day of violence in Cagliari Uta prison.

According to the independent penitentiary police union, an inmate with a criminal record for assault during a cell change refused to let the officers in, cursing them and hitting them with a stool . Two were injured: a policeman with a 30-day prognosis for a broken arm, and seven days assigned by doctors to a superintendent.

"This escalation of violence in Uta is continually denounced by Sappe, but it finds no confirmation in terms of transfer, by the offices of the Penitentiary Authority of Cagliari and the Dap of Rome, of the inmates who are the authors of such vile aggressions", underlines the regional secretary Luca Fais. For the national leader of the union, Donato Capece, "it is necessary to intervene on the lack of staff, on the aggressions against the Penitentiary Police personnel, on the adjustment of contractual resources, the provision of Tasers and technology to support security".
