An escape attempt foiled and three cell phones confiscated from as many inmates. This is the result of the checks carried out in recent days by the Penitentiary Police officers in the Uta prison.
During the thorough searches, as mentioned, three cell phones were found that had been smuggled into the penitentiary to have contact with the outside. And during the checks, a prisoner who was in a courtyard of the walks tried to climb over a wall with the intention of escaping, but was promptly stopped by the officers.
"A brilliant operation - explains the general secretary of the Uil Pa Penitentiary Police Michele Cireddu - which demonstrates once again the high professionalism and constant commitment of the Penitentiary Police of Cagliari, which operates daily in conditions made practically impossible by the shortage of over 100 agents compared to the expected staff, by the serious overcrowding and by the serious structural anomalies" of the prison.
