Urban hygiene in Alghero, Delrio (Fiadel): «Ecobox? Even we operators can't take it anymore"

Ecoboxes of bars and restaurants that resemble small landfills and exasperated ecological operators. The Fiadel territorial secretary, Stefano Delrio, intervenes on the problem of urban hygiene in Alghero.

«We have already reported the problem and brought to attention the unpleasant state in which the city's ecoboxes find themselves», explains Delrio, acting as spokesperson for the complaints of the operators assigned to the collection of commercial fractions «who are forced, every day, to fulfill the service - continues the trade unionist - to physically enter these ecoboxes which are totally unclean and in a dilapidated state, therefore dangerous".

Mice, cockroaches and seagulls feast on the organic waste, while the operators have to empty the bins a stone's throw from the tables "with tourists eating, all to the ire of the operators themselves", underlines Stefano Delrio, evidently urging alternative solutions to waste containers disguised as planters.
