Uncivilized people still at work in the center of Quartu.
The bags of unsorted waste left every day at the bottom of the trash cans weren't enough. Now someone has even decided to throw away two oxygen tanks in the street. It happened under the three-armed containers for glass, paper, and plastic on Via Marconi, right at the intersection with Via Turati.
Some passers-by alerted the local police station since the waste was hazardous, and the two cylinders were then recovered.
This is yet another uncivilized act in the city where, despite regular checks by local police and environmental inspectors, ill-mannered individuals continue to cause a scorched earth disaster by abandoning bags and bulky items on the streets and sidewalks. Just in recent days, thanks to the use of cameras and camera traps, several people abandoning garbage on Via Is Arenas have been caught, fined, and reported.
Among the most critical areas is the one between Via Bonaria and Via Rosas, where dumping, including of bulky waste, is a daily occurrence. Enforcement of waste sorting continues. In five months, 30 fines have been issued to those who dumped waste where prohibited and those who failed to comply with waste sorting regulations. Three crimes have also been reported. Regarding waste sorting, the most vulnerable area remains the Pitz'e Serra apartment buildings, where dozens of bags are marked with non-compliant waste stickers every day. However, the number of stamped bags has also decreased, as a result of the checks, from 600 bags per day to about a hundred.
