Tragic accident on State Road 131 near Tramatza: at kilometer 102 a Lince carrying two soldiers stationed in Teulada overturned. They were headed to Olbia. One died instantly, the other was transported by air ambulance to Brotzu.
The victim was Stefano Pistis, 45 years old, from Sant'Anna Arresi: he was a graduated adjutant of the Third Bersaglieri Regiment of the Sassari Brigade. The fellow soldier is Roberto Calaresu, 47 years old: he suffered numerous traumas. According to the latest news, his life is not in danger.
According to an initial reconstruction, yet to be confirmed, the accident was apparently caused by the explosion of a tire, which caused the armored vehicle to lose grip and end up on its side.
Calaresu remained trapped inside the cockpit. Pistis was thrown outside and was crushed.
The traffic police, the 118 rescuers and the firefighters intervened on site.
In the evening, the message of condolence from the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, arrived (BELOW).
