The body of Ernesto Bocchino, the Piedmontese tourist who died shortly after midday in the Solanas seafront, where he was spending his vacation with his wife and daughter, has been returned to his family.

The magistrate issued the order following an investigation by the Maracalagonis Carabinieri. The body was transferred to the morgue of the new cemetery in Sinnai. The 78-year-old tourist was on the shore when he suddenly disappeared beneath the waves. The theory is that he suffered a sudden illness and was then swept into the water by the waves.

Some swimmers rescued the tourist, and the emergency medical service was called to 118 with the arrival of the air ambulance. Rescue attempts by paramedics were unsuccessful. The man was already dead.

The tourist was well-known in Solanas: he and his family often spent their holidays there, even making friends with some of the families. The tourist town is deeply grieving.
