Less than 48 hours have passed since the fires that devastated Southern Sardinia. And today, once again, we find ourselves dealing with a new emergency.

Thus, in a note, the governor Alessandra Todde , after the devastating fire that broke out along the coast of Villasimius .

"At Punta Molentis, one of the pearls of our land, the flames forced dozens of people to flee by sea. Over 200 cars were trapped. Residents and tourists were in danger, in panic. A horrible, painful scene. While another piece of our beauty lies in ashes," the statement from the regional president continued. She added: "I thank, with all my gratitude, the women and men engaged in the emergency on the ground."

Again: "With the Councilor for Environmental Protection Rosanna Laconi, we spent the day, as always, in constant contact with the Forestry Corps, Civil Protection, the Fire Brigade, and the Port Authority."

"We," the governor concludes, " will not surrender to violence and the attempt to destroy our land. We will work even harder to strengthen our facilities and enhance our prevention and intervention tools . I reiterate, those who destroy Sardinia are enemies of our community. And they will be treated as such. Without compromise, with every responsibility that falls to us."
