A strong storm hit southern Sardinia, with heavy rainfall also in Cagliari.

The disturbance is accompanied by intense electrical activity that has traveled up the Sardinian sea: numerous lightning strikes in the south-western area, as reported on the Blitzortung maps.

According to forecasts from the ARPAS weather center , a return of snow, in modest quantities, cannot be ruled out during the night on the Gennargentu mountains above 1200 meters.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for "cloudy skies with scattered showers or thunderstorms, with light to locally moderate cumulative rainfall. The weather will ease in the second half of the day."

The yellow alert issued by the regional civil protection remains in effect.
