The latest threatening writings on the walls of the church of San Marco do not fall into silence. This time the target is the commander of the Carabinieri station of the town, Mattia Chessa. It is yet another act of intimidation that hits the force and, more generally, the institutions. An act that rekindles tensions and that the municipal administration condemns.
"The community must rebel against these intimidations," the Municipality wrote in a note, "which only serve to create discontent and destabilize the social balance."
The attack on Commander Chessa comes after a long series of similar episodes that, in the space of a few months, have fueled suspicions of a larger plan. "We do not want to think of a hidden direction," the statement continues, "but the frequency of these acts should make us reflect."
For the administration, Orgosolo cannot and must no longer be pointed out as "the town of malaise". Today, the Municipality explains, there are concrete signs of change: projects for young people, work in progress, employment prospects. "Thanks to tourism, new roads are opening up - we read further - and the Borghi project, financed with Pnrr funds, has already given answers to 22 young people in the town with artisan and tourism initiatives".
Added to this are the active construction sites: the Cumbidanovu dam, which already employs many workers, will soon double its workforce. Forestas will also hire 19 full-time workers and many local companies are involved in recently started public works.
"We are no longer in the dark years of high unemployment - the Municipality emphasizes - and there are no economic reasons so dramatic as to justify these gestures". Even in the last public meeting, convened to discuss the previous threats, no one was able to offer a credible explanation.
One thing is certain: "It is not acceptable that any claims, however legitimate, turn into threats or blackmail. It is a method that must be rejected without ifs or buts. Either the country reacts or there will be chaos."
