An iron cross commissioned to be placed on Monte Cau was stolen from Sorso while he was in a blacksmith's workshop to be completed.

The unusual blow - the iron cross is 6 meters high and 3.5 wide, weighs about 6 quintals - occurred during the night, when unknown persons entered the craftsman's business and stole it.

Once the alarm went off, the carabinieri of Sorso set out in search of the artifact which, given its weight and size, was certainly not easy to hide.

They found it this morning abandoned on the Statale 200 in the locality of "Bellinpiazza".

The cross, owned by the municipality, is being examined in search of any traces that could lead to the identification of the perpetrators of the theft.
