Cagliari brothers Gianmarco and Filippo Tunis and Daniele Campus from Quartu remain in prison, charged with the murder of Leonardo Mocci, the 23-year-old bricklayer killed in Monserrato last month. The Court of Appeal rejected the request filed by lawyers Riccardo Floris (for the Tunis brothers) and Alberto Pani and Francesca Mannai for the third arrested man.
The lawyers had filed a motion to revoke the precautionary measure due to the lack of serious evidence, but also due to the loss of effectiveness due to the failure to transmit the investigative documents within the timeframe required by law.
The appeal had remained "closed" for days until yesterday, when for nearly two hours, lawyer Floris contested from top to bottom all the "serious evidence" indicated in the precautionary custody order with which Judge Claudia Sechi sent the two very young brothers from Cagliari to prison.
Among the points considered crucial in the appeal was the fact that some of the young people questioned as witnesses by the Carabinieri should have been investigated immediately, and therefore their statements would be unusable.
Public prosecutor Enrico Lussu (who is in charge of the case with his colleague Diana Lecca ) disagreed, having asked the judges to leave the suspects in prison because they were considered dangerous. Furthermore, the two guns used in the attack have not yet been found. Meanwhile, last Tuesday, Campus (represented by lawyers Alberto Pani and Francesca Mannai) also had a review hearing.
The decision of the Court of Liberty arrived today for everyone.
