The Region: «Helicopters and Canadair are not enough», asked for help from the firefighters
An additional half million has been allocated for firefighting support: «The reduction in air vehicles only partially compensated by the national fleet»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The firefighting helicopters are not enough, not even the Canadair support, the Region is asking the firefighters for help.
Despite the institutional reassurances of recent weeks, the flop of two and a half tenders (there are only 5 air vehicles available, after the deserted tenders) set by the previous executive, the Council is now, when July is upon us, running to shelters and allocates a further half a million euros to support firefighters in fighting forest fires.
«Currently the available resources allocated for the year 2024 for the implementation of the collaboration agreement with the National Fire Brigade for activities related to the firefighting campaign are equal to one million», we read in the report on the measure approved yesterday by the regional executive, with which «it is decided to increase the resources available for the agreement with the National Fire Brigade in the firefighting campaign by 500,000 euros, so that it can provide support to the regional structures deployed in the fight against fires, similar to that of 2023, year in which the final allocation was equal to 1,500,000 euros".
This need, it is admitted, "is also indispensable in light of the reduction in the deployment of regional air assets, only partially compensated by the greater contribution of the national fleet". That is, from Canadair.
