Quartu tells its story through its places, traditions, and communities. The "Quartu Sensoriale. Arts, Steps, Flavors" program, launched Friday and will run until November 4th, is a series of events promoted by the Ichnusae association to provide residents and visitors with an authentic and participatory experience of the area.

The festival brings together literature, archaeology, landscape, music, crafts, and gastronomy. Each event offers a different way to experience Sardinia's identity: listening to a legend, visiting a historic site, learning a craft, preparing a traditional recipe, or exploring the coast in search of traces left by time. The program also devotes ample space to experiences related to the Marina di Capitana, the ancient tuna fisheries, World War II forts, and the tradition of sailors' knots. With "Autumn Workshop in the Vineyard: From Plant to Glass," participants will also be able to experience the vineyards and learn more about the stages of the grape harvest and wine culture. Expertise will be the focus of workshops dedicated to pastissus, malloreddus, and Su moddizzosu, opportunities to rediscover recipes, techniques, and meanings of Sardinian food culture. "Intrecci di mare" will be dedicated to reed basketry, while "Filigree, traditional gold and silver" will introduce the public to the basic techniques of goldsmithing and the connection between filigree and Sardinian dress.

Music and movement will complete the story with a Sardinian dance workshop by the "Città di Quarto 1928" association and a concert by the Cuncordia a Launeddas group in the churchyard of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Flumini. Literature and food culture will meet again at the presentation of the book "Grazie Deledda e il cibo," with journalist, author, and gastronome Giovanni Fancello: a journey through the works of Grazia Deledda, memory, and the sweets associated with commemorating the dead. The calendar closes with "Mani nella terra," a hands-on experience in the garden, exploring seasonal vegetables and agricultural biodiversity. The next event is scheduled for Tuesday at 3 pm at Su Meriagu with a pastissus workshop. On Thursday at 3 pm, the tour of the Batterie Carlo Faldi takes place at Is Mortorius. On Friday the 23rd, the tour is again at Cala Regina, while at 8:30 pm, a Sardinian dance workshop will take place at Sa dom'e Farra. Further initiatives will follow in the following days.
