A breath of fresh air comes from the regional budget, which has allocated 250 thousand euros to cover 50 percent of the arrears of 2020 and 2021, but more is needed to ensure survival and stability. The CGIL, CISL and UIL unions underlined this in the crowded event held at the Opera Gesù Nazareno in Sassari (Ge.Na.) which deals with the rehabilitation of people with intellectual and autistic disabilities. "We have to protect not only the 98 workers but also the 110 patients," union representatives said.

The positive aspect is that the regional councilors of the territory are carrying out the battle in a compact way, as pointed out by Desirè Manca, Gianfranco Satta and Antonio Piu who is part of the Social and Health Policies Commission and has anticipated the next step: "Now we aim to a regional technical table to review the tariffs, which will be adjusted to the real costs of personnel, equipment, materials and energy bills, and also on the percentage of revenues. There is a month and a half of time for the ownership of Ge.Na. prepare an exhaustive documentation because the tariffs will be adjusted on the proven costs ".

The director of the Ge.Na. Who urged political intervention underlines: “The amendment is welcome, even if it covers 50% of salary adjustments, but now we need to review the rates because costs have increased by 22,000 euros per month. It is a question of safeguarding a structure which since 1955 has guaranteed qualified assistance to people with disabilities and 70 of the 110 patients are residents ”.
