The first night of work on the Quartese section of the 554 from Margine Rosso to Pitz'e Serra went smoothly.

The decision to close the road from 10pm to 6am to allow for the overpass at via Biora to be fixed proved to be successful: few cars, no queues and almost disciplined motorists who followed the alternative routes without batting an eye.

All thanks, it must be said, to an impeccable organization. Already in the days preceding the intervention, huge yellow signs were placed, visible from afar, which indicate the proximity of the interruption and alternative routes.

There are 14 in all: two on the way for those arriving from Pitz'e Serra, two from Villasimius, two from via Fiume and two for those arriving from the other stretch of the 554. And two more in Pitz'e Serra coming down from high schools, others two always in Pitz'e Serra arriving from via Germania, two in via Italia and two for those arriving from Quartucciu. They are placed, in pairs, one 350 meters from the construction site and one 100 meters away.

The work should continue until Saturday, but could finish sooner. And even the work on the elevated walkway, despite the rain, is already well advanced. Carrying them out is a task force of workers who operate with cutting-edge equipment and with floodlights capable of illuminating the intervention area as day. They have already begun to change the iron parts of the parapet to secure the overpass.
