The Grig: "Immediately remove hazardous waste from Molentargius Park."

The Legal Intervention Group (GrIG) has raised the alarm over the presence of hazardous waste found in the Molentargius-Saline nature park: "It must be removed immediately."

The discovery of the material , which may contain asbestos, and the bins in the municipality of Maracalagonis in the Perdalonga area of Costa Bentu (Quartu S. Elena) dates back several weeks. Investigations by the Quartu Forestry Corps led to the identification of a person who had been caught several times abandoning various types of waste in the area.

In the meantime , environmental cleanup obligations have also been triggered, which could involve the Region and other landowners in the event of non-compliance by the offender.

Now the association is calling for the removal of the piles of various waste and, with a bitter taste in its mouth , asks "why there are people who continue to engage in behaviors that are harmful to the environment and public health just to save a few pennies."
