On Thursday 9 May, at 11am, the archaeologist Donatella Mureddu and the anthropologist Rosalba Floris will tell the students of the Siotto Pintor classical high school the story of three archaeological sites almost hidden in the urban fabric of Cagliari . The protagonists of the morning will be the monumental area under the church of Sant'Eulalia , the funerary spaces at the end of Vico III Lanusei and those under the former hotel "La Scala di Ferro" . The experts will also talk about the relationship between ruins, the ancient city and the people who lived and found burial there, to bring more and more young people closer to the Sardinian territory and heritage.

"Karales, the double face of a city, stories of stones and people" is the fifth and final appointment of a cycle of meetings organized by the GAK - Kalaritano Archaeological Group, a social promotion association founded in 2018 which operates in the field of protection, the promotion and valorisation of cultural heritage.

The conference will be held in the "Sergio Atzeni" main hall , will be open to the public and will be broadcast live on the GAK YouTube channel. At the end of the meeting, Siotto students will be able to have their say on the topics addressed and express their considerations on the meetings held. This event, established in 2004 and awarded several times with the Medal of the President of the Republic, aims to introduce young people to knowledge of the area and enhance the so-called "minor assets", little-known sites that risk being forgotten and erased from historical memory.

For the 2024 edition, appointments are scheduled in Cagliari from 11 to 13 May. The task was again entrusted to the Cagliari Archaeological Group with the patronage of the Municipality, the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the provinces of Oristano and Southern Sardinia, of the University of Cagliari and the Sardinia Foundation.
